Decor Inspiration: Bold Graphic Bathrooms

Wallpaper has developed an unfortunate bad reputation due to the excessive florals that were over used in the 80's and 90's. Add to that the nightmare stripping process and most people cringe at the idea of using it. In the last decade wallpaper has come a long way with creative designs and easier removal processes. I love the idea of adding a bold statement in a half bath. It allows one to express themselves and tasks risks they might not do in other areas of the home. The tropical leaves above are fabulous even though I would be insanely nervous to try to pull it off.  What do you think?

I'm Dreaming of a White Kitchen

Though I don't own a home I often daydream of what my kitchen would look like if I did. I want it to be the center point and large enough for a small army to gather round while I bake, put the finishing touches on a dish, or taste test a simmering pot of soup. White kitchens are so wonderfully inviting especially those with a wall full of windows. I hope to have a space that is bright and airy like the ones seen below that radiates my love of cooking.

I thought I would share this great idea.....hiding the outlets below the cabinets

An Introduction to Casamidy

I first discovered Casamidy after seeing the amazing headboard featured in Kishani Perera's bedroom in the June 2010 edition of House Beautiful. That headoboard captivated me. Casamidy was established in 1998 by Jorge Almada and his wife Ann-Marie Midy who collaborated with local artisans in Mexico incorporating traditional tin and ironwork to create their line of contemporary furniture. Their designs are original and distinct. I would love to add the hacienda headboard and an opera chair or one of everything to my humble abode.
