Things I'm Currently Loving

Scooped up a pair of these in NYC. Can't wait until Fall to wear them.

Fave new nail polish color "Make Some Noise" introduced by a sweet friend

I also added this motorcycle jacket to the wardrobe while in NYC

Kinda lusting after these Elizabeth & James beauties

Time has been passing by a little edgier with this on my wrist too.

A girl can dream about Celine, right?

Sleep Beautifully

I am moving into some new digs soon (fingers crossed), so I am faced with all of the how in the world am I going to decorate the new space questions. The biggest priority on my list is creating a cocoon of a bedroom space. At one point in my life I should have likely rented a studio as I practically lived out of my bed. I had routine. Get up. Go to work. Come home. Change clothes. Get in bed. Get up. Make food. Get back in bed. Watch tv/movies. Sleep. Repeat. Days where I seek out the solace of my bed immediately following work are few and far between. Now, if I am wasting a large amount of my time at home it is usually on the couch. However, I yearn for my own little cocoon to envelope me at the end of the day. I am torn between serene versus color. At times I can be such a contradiction. I like pastels with gold accents and then I love bold with borderline exotic boho. My tastes are eclectic and I try to meld my likes into my own style instead of putting myself in a box.

I absolutely love the canopy bed above with the coral accents and upholstered headboard. At one point I would have never trusted myself to have a nice silk fabric or a white duvet. However, gone are my days of camping out in bed and taking my meals there or post late night snacking. I am a bit more confident  I won't ruin anything. However,  I can't help but think of how all of the white duvets must be dry cleaned to look immaculate and wrinkle free. Sorting through my pictures I definitely notice a theme with the bold magenta. I haven't really been able to find what I like (remotely affordable anyway...sadly Matouk linens are out of my range) so I may pick out some fabric and have a duvet made. In addition to color scheme the equally impossible decision is what type of headboard. I like upholstered, chippendale themed, fun gilded antiques, and canopy beds even with romantic fabric panels. Decisions. Decisions. Decisions. Do you have any recommendations to share?! I would love to hear your ideas!

Bold upholstered headboard with white duvet and colored trim?

Or traditional white upholstered headboard by Samantha Pynn?

I love everything about this room of Olatz Schnabel. Headboard, rug, bold colors.

I am drawn to the white duvet with colored trim as seen in Lonny (preferably not black)

Bold and can you believe they are from Target?

Calm and relaxing

Studio in the City

Departing for NYC tomorrow afternoon. Thursday is officially Operation Get New Apartment in Order for my sweet friend. I've been searching for some inspiration to share. I think the great thing about adjusting to studio living is the creativity that results.

Bon Weekend

I'm in DC for a long weekend catching up with a bestie. Looking forward to strolling through the shops in Georgetown, coffee breaks, eyecandy in suits,  cupcakes, smancy dinners out,  wine down time, DC's finest dive bar, amazing Ethiopian food, and anything in between. Hope you have a wonderful weekend!
